Child surgeon case

45 year-old security guard Esteban Gómez Barrios has filed a second lawsuit claiming that an 11 year-old boy, who is the son of Colombian doctor Olmedo Valencia, was illegally allowed to participate in a surgery. The case comes in addition to the previous incident that was reported by Miriam Briceño Montaño.
According to Gómez, after prolonged physical therapy treatment on his right pinky finger, he was scheduled for an operation at the local Hospital. After the surgery however, Gómez experienced complications and was not able to recover movement in his finger.
The security guard told the newspaper “La Estrella de Iquique” that apart from the doctor, an alleged nurse and the boy were also present during the surgery. According to Gómez, the boy did not participate as a mere observer but, after an initial incision was made by his father, actually used a pair of tweezers to grasp and move the man’s tendons and then proceeded to suture the wound while under the supervision and following instructions of Olmedo Valencia.
At the time of the incident, the patient reportedly asked for clarification regarding the 11 year-old boy’s participation in the operation, but was told by hospital personnel that it was a “common occurrence”.(EMOL 08/08/2008)

Durante las pasadas vacaciones me dediqué a buscar por internet aquellas canciones que estuvieron presentes en la enseñanza del francés en decadas pasadas. Felizmente ya es posible encontrarlas en la red gracias a las nuevas tecnologías. Hoy, quiero recordar un exito de los años 80 : Santa María del mar, cantada por la gran cantante francesa Mireille Mathieu, conocida también como el ruiseñor de Avignon.

Student throws water on Minister of Education

An student-teacher activity being held with the participation of the Minister of Education, Mónica Jiménez, took an unexpected turn this morning when the official became the target of an act of aggression from a student, who threw a glass of water in her face. The minister was one of the guest speakers at the Closing Day of Public Education Involvement Discussions, which calls on high school students, university students and teachers to address issues such as the General Education Law (LGE). The students belong to the Coordinating Assembly of University and High School Students (Aceus). The activity, which was being held at the Crown Plaza hotel, began to become tense as a group of students started to verbally confront the minister. The students hurled protests not only against the LGE, but also in relation to arrests that have been made during the various demonstrations that have taken place in recent weeks. (EMOL 14/07/2008)

Oui, c'est vrai. Cette photo a commencé à vieillir avec le temps et moi avec elle. Je marchais ce soir le long du jardin de Tuileries, un soir d'hiver, loin de ma femme et de mes enfants et regrettant mon pays.

Mi otra cama

La conocí hace año y medio aproximadamente y la visité regularmente unas dos veces por semana. Sus exquisitos masajes hicieron que me volviera un adicto a ella y de aquella extraña primera experiencia pasé a ser uno de sus fervientes promotores. En un post anterior hablé de ese primer doloroso masaje y de los deseos de adquirirla. Lamentablemente no gané ningún premio para lograr eso, pero afortunadamente el tío Paul ayudó.
